Process:

Everybody on the team will need to work together to successfully complete this project. You each will be assigned an individual task to investigate and contribute to the larger goal at hand. While the tasks are broken up and meant to be handled on a individual basis, do not forget that you will all have to come together and collaborate to have a successful completion. Also, make sure you stay on task and complete what is asked of you (make an outline NOT a script).

Step 1: First off, you must be familiar with the movie Good Will Hunting. We have already watched the movie in class, but you can find some scenes to review and interviews posted below to draw from. Once everyone has taken time to get to know the original movie, as a group gather and discuss to ensure a solid understanding of what you are trying to achieve. By clicking here you can view the actual script of the first movie if you would like to read it.

Step 2: Now, you must decide which position each member of the team fits best. Once decided, these links will be what you later use to receive more in-depth details for your specific position:

Role 1: The Historian- Your job is to reflect on all of the instances emphasizig history in the first movie. Furthermore, find another way to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of history and the different points of view on on it.

Role 2: The Geographer- Your job is to look back on the first movie and where it took place. Don't forget to look into where you think the story might be heading. Moreover, you will be in charge of picking where the second movie will take place.

Role 3:  The Connector- You are responsible for making sure all of the second movie flows smoothly from the first movie. You will have to do a lot of analyzing on what is possible and what makes sense.

Role 4: The Dramatist- In link with the connector, your job is to click all the pieces together. You must do the little things like find actors you think you would like to fill the major roles. You also are in charge of the time line. With your job it is crucial you communicate with the rest of your team.

Step 3: Now that each of you have an individual goal, please focus on your individual page. While working on your individual parts, make sure to keep the overall goal in mind. Also, stay in communication with one another. Think and focus on what your part for creating the outline is and how it will play into the making of a movie. Once all the of your seperate parts are complete, you will come together to form the finished outline.

Step 4: Next, with everyone knowing their individual roles, organizing of information should take place. You each have your own area of expertise which you are in charge of. During this time the historian should be figuring out how to integrate parts of history into the movie, the geographer should be deciding movie locations, the dramatist should be deciding things like top acting choices, and the connector should be making sure everyone else's choices flow from the first movie to the second.

Step 5: Finally, once everyone has completed their decisions and the connector has approved them, all members of the team will gather together to creat the outline. At this point, everyone will bring out their materials. The outline should look like a paper outline, but more in-depth. Each member of the team should have pictures to go with their section of the project. The outline must be realistic, answer the required criteria, and flow from the first movie. Once the outline is complete it will be sent to Pearl Street Films. Remember the more thorough your outline, the more likely it is to be understood and chosen.
